Biophysical Drug Rehabs Helping To Prevent Birth Defects

A concern that many drug users carry with them is the fear that their previous drug use might have a lasting effect on them biologically and have subsequent effects on future pregnancies and risks to their developing babies.
As such, it has long been believed that more holistic rehabs, or biophysical rehab programs in particular, were important in helping woman achieve successful pregnancies.
This idea is based on biophysical drug rehab methods that fully clear away all drug residue out of the tissues of the body to help prevent birth defects.
Just this week major news media validated this concern with reports that the CDC now links prescription pain killers in pregnancy to birth defects.
The National Birth Defects Study, conducted by the CDC, is the largest study ever done on causes of birth defects in the US.
Taking these painkillers prior to pregnancy or during pregnancy showed increased incidence of congenital heart defects, spina bifida, hydrocephaly (buildup of spinal fluid on the brain), congenital glaucoma and gastroschisis (organs developing outside the abdomen).
The report does its best to try and downplay the size of the risk and more, seemed to focus more on those taking the drugs during early stages of pregnancy.
No doubt top pharmaceutical companies helped to put pressure on the findings and final report that was issued.
However, experts in the drug rehab field have firsthand experience with this situation and how drugs of all types increase the risk of birth defects.
More, the risks are clearly not just during pregnancy but damage is created from long term use well before pregnancies.
Biophysical drug rehab centers focus on repairing these long term effects.
Whereas traditional rehab consists of 28 days and at best 3-5 days of medical detox, biophysical rehab centers are usually long term rehab models (usually 90 days or better) and include physical protocols that last weeks or months.
Centers vary in practice a bit but the general concept is a mix of exercise, nutritional supplements and a medical sauna routine daily during their rehab treatment.
The combination of these factors produces cellular respiration and patients experience a release of drug residue that has been building up in their fatty tissues and other parts of the body.
Once completed nearly all report a resurgence of overall health but also remarkable gains in energy, normalized eating and sleeping patterns and maybe best of all - no cravings or urges to use again.
For those that really wish to get well again, biophysical drug rehab programs offer a very common sense approach to feeling fully 'normal' and healthy again without drugs.
When we consider what this may also do for our future generations and the prevention of debilitating birth defects, it may also make it the most responsible choice in drug rehab treatment options that we consider.
