    • 1). Insert your Windows XP OS disc into the computer.

    • 2). Restart the computer. Look for the message across the screen, "Press any key to boot from CD," and press the Space bar on your keyboard. The "Welcome to Setup" screen will open. Press Enter.

    • 3). Read the Microsoft Software license terms and press F8 to accept. Windows will now look for existing Windows installations.

    • 4). Select your Windows XP installation needing repair. Press R on the keyboard for "Repair." The necessary files will be copied to your hard drive, and then the computer will reboot.
