- 1). Ensure that your Snugride car seat is detached from the car seat base. To disengage, simply lift up on the lever on the back of the car seat and lift the car seat in an upward position.
- 2). Set the Snugride base in the back seat of your car in a rear-facing position and locate the two safety clasps on the side of the base.
- 3). Attach the safety clasps to the interior safety latch bars. The safety latch bars are found on the inside of your car, in the center back seat near where the seat belts meet inside the seat cushions. Each safety clasp on the Snugride base will attach to one of the safety latch bars, one on each side.
- 4). Thread the center safety belt found inside your car through the groove located on the Snugride base, and ensure that the safety belt is latched.
- 5). Insert your child into her car seat and buckle her safely inside. Gently lift the car seat into a rear-facing position (so that she will face the back seat cushions as opposed to facing the windshield) and place the seat directly on top of the base.
- 6). Press the car seat in a downward feet-first position and gently lower the car seat until you hear a loud "click" sound. This click ensures that the seat is safely secured to the base.
