How to Remove Semi-Permanent Dye

    • 1). Wash your hair daily with medicated dandruff shampoo. The medication in the shampoo is strong and strips dye out of hair with prolonged use.

    • 2). Use dish soap in your hair once a week and follow it with a deep-conditioning treatment. The dish soap strips color from the hair, but also removes moisture. The deep conditioner will restore moisture and shine, and can further the color-removal process, especially if it's left in for five minutes or longer.

    • 3). Crush five or six vitamin C tablets and mix them into your shampoo. Work the mixture into damp hair and leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and the mixture should have stripped the color out of your hair.

    • 4). Use a store-bought hair-color remover if you have difficulty stripping the dye out with home remedies. The process can be damaging, so deep-condition your hair after the color removal.
