Article Writing and the Distraction Syndrome
If you find that you can't write quickly enough, perhaps it has something to do with distractions.
Distraction 1: Social network sites.
Stop visiting forums and social network sites! These sites are great time bandits and you will end up spending too much time on useless chatter.
Stay off those sites until you have reached your writing goals.
Distraction 2: Television.
Television is also a great distraction.
I know that many writers are working from home, so they have the freedom to do whatever they want.
Spending time in front of the TV isn't going to boost your revenues.
Shut it off and get back to writing! Distraction 3: Video sites.
Watching online videos can cost you a lot of precious time.
Each video takes up a few minutes of your time.
At the end of each video, you tell yourself "just a few more minutes".
Then you click on the next video link and watch another video.
There goes another five minutes.
You can easily spend hours watching useless videos.
Get off the video sites and start writing! Distraction 4: Instant chat messengers.
Don't leave these on or you will easily get distracted.
A friend sees you online and a message window pops up.
You replied to the message and shortly after, another window pops up.
Soon, you find yourself chatting heartily with your friends and neglecting your work.
Shut down those chat applications and get back to article writing! Distraction 5: Emails.
Don't spend too much time answering incoming emails.
You can never finish replying to all the incoming emails.
We are all bombarded by hundreds of mail every day.
Allocate a time slot for answer mails, and when you are done, shut down your email client and focus on your writing.
