- 1). Click "Start," "All Programs," and then "Adobe."
- 2). Open any of the Adobe programs that are currently installed on your computer. Which program you choose doesn't matter. Every time an Adobe program opens, Adobe Updater also opens and checks for new updates for that program. If updates are available, click "Install." Just keeping your Adobe program updated will fix compatibility issues that you may be experiencing with your operating system.
- 3). Download the compatibility update for Windows Vista (if you are running that operating system). Go to Microsoft's download site for the compatibility update and click "Download" to download and install it. Windows Vista initially had some issues with older programs, Adobe software included. Downloading and installing the compatibility update for Windows Vista can fix compatibility issues you're experiencing with your Adobe software.
