- 1). Click the Windows "Start" menu button and type "regedit."
- 2). Press "Enter" to open the registry editor.
- 3). Double click "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" and then double click "Software."
- 4). Double click "Microsoft" to open that key and then double click "Internet Explorer."
- 5). Double click "Main." A list of keys will appear on the right side of the editor.
- 6). Double click the "NoUpdateCheck" key. A dialog window will open and display a text box.
- 7). Type "0" (without the quotes) in the text box and click "OK." Click "File," then open the "File" menu and select "Exit."
