There are rarely any symptoms for high blood pressure and it can remain undetected for a long time. Unfortunately, in many cases it remains undetected until a person has a heart attack or stroke.

Just thinking you are fit is not the answer. It has to be confirmed and if you are a sufferer, the steps that need to be taken to regulate the complaint must be taken and adhered to.

There are many ways to reduce high blood pressure: most of them are common sense but some people do not want to hear the truth. They continue to go about their daily lives unaware of the dangers they could face if they proceed with their current lifestyle.

A change in lifestyle is the only way high blood pressure can be controlled. It cannot be cured but it could be regulated. This could be achieved by reducing your fat intake, cutting down on salt, stopping smoking, reducing alcohol then you stand a good chance of avoiding medication. So by taking notice of your doctor's advice, you are ensuring your high blood pressure is not left unchecked and you would be starting to take control of your life and therefore improving the quality of it.
