Alternative Dispute Resolution, or ADR is the term used for the different ways of settling a disagreement outside the courtroom. ADR includes such processes as mediation, arbitration, mediation-arbitration, early neutral evaluation, and settlement conference.
Many couples will choose to use a form of alternative dispute resolution because it is usually less expensive and less confrontational.
