- 1). Choose the colors you wish to use and thread your sewing machine.
- 2). Place the area of the garment you wish to patch under the presser foot of your sewing machine, and put a piece of wash-away stabilizer a little larger than the hole over the garment.
- 3). Stitch around the outside edge of the hole to hold the stabilizer in place, and then fill in the hole with sewing machine stitches, extending over the edges of the hole on all sides. Be generous with the stitches, covering the stabilizer completely.
- 4). Follow the directions that came with the stabilizer to wash the stabilizer away, leaving only the patch made of sewing machine stitches.
