A man thought he was home, he later told police, but the apartment door wouldn't open. So he kicked it in. He was greeted by a woman with a gun, and he obeyed her order to lie on the ground until police arrived. This kinda makes me think that he wasn't that drunk. The woman told the man  she was calling 911. He started back toward the door but she said she had a gun and ordered him to lie on the ground. I don't know if he even looked at her, the threat was enough. When the police arrived he was still there, on the ground and the gun was sitting on the coffee table
What would have happened if she didn't have the gun? Maybe the intruder would have  just meandered back out the door, recognizing his mistake. Maybe he would have thought that she had broken into his place and got violent with her.
Fortunately we don't have to deal with maybes. And neither did she. The fact that she had a gun does not mean that she would have used it. We have seen the ramifications of laws that are so ambiguous that they are laughable. The self protection we assume is our right, can he manipulated to fit what ever prevalent  political climate.  I would only hope that all of us  will protect ourselves  with a total home safety kit. At least the prevision effect of an alarm system will provide sufficient warning before we take more lethal actions. Those actions would include the use of pepper spray, stun guns, and other weapons of appropriate types.  The use of lethal force to even protect your home is questionable.   If you opt for the use of a gun to protect your rights you will suffer grief and pain. There is NO QUESTION ABOUT IT! Between the wimp justice system and the fee sucking lawyers, you don't have a chance. Look at the Zimmerman case, now there are 4 or 5 of the original witnesses who have reneged on their original testimonies. Either because they are just were non compos mentis or they have been bought off. So please, not for me but for yourself, buy non-lethal weapons to protect yourselves and your lived ones, BUT BUY A FRIGGIN AK47  TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM ARMED INVASIONS.
