Five Steps to Get Rid of Chronic Pain!
Chronic pain has helped to ruin the lives of many people across the spectrum of age and socio-economic ranges since the beginning of time but it doesn't have to if you just take a few minutes to implement a few of the strategies that I want to talk about today in this article.
Of course you should always consult your doctor before engaging in any health related activities.
Step one is to eat more fish and poultry.
These things have something called tryptophan in them which is an amino acid that boosts your levels of serotonin.
Something else to boost your levels of serotonin is a drug called Prozac (I'm just saying!).
Step two is to eat a banana everyday.
A lot of chronic pain comes from arthritis or muscle pain from other inflammatory conditions such as these.
Bananas will give you a lot of magnesium and potassium that should help control the spasms that arise from arthritis and muscle pain.
Step three is to get regular exercise every single day.
Exercise generally makes your body create more endorphins which are natural painkillers.
Of course if you already have a lot of pain, then exercising may be hard but that's okay because it doesn't have to be vigorous exercise- just anything that pushes your body a little harder than it normally would.
Step four is to avoid as many harmful fats as you can.
As Americans we eat a lot of red meat but the problem is, those things as well as cooking oil will stimulate the production of something called arachidonic acid which is a compound that the body will use to convert into hormone like substances.
These hormone like substances will then trigger inflammation which of course we don't want.
Finally step five is a little more difficult.
Basically you need to take steps to control psychological stress because it will play a huge role in chronic pain.
There are a nearly infinite number of ways to control stress and many of them revolve around different forms of meditation and things like that.
I'm not suggesting you need to go all wonky on me and buy a bunch of candles and start chanting but you may wish to engage in simple forms of meditation such as taking 10 deep breaths followed by 10 short breathes followed by 10 deep breaths again.
This is a simple form of meditation that can be highly effective if done several times a day to remove stress.
Living a life without chronic pain is something that many of us dream of and it can be achieved by following these simple five steps.
But of course, as I said at the beginning of this article, it's a good idea to consult your doctor before engaging in any health related activities.
