- 1). Click on "Start" and right-click on "Computer." Select "Properties."
- 2). Click on the "Advanced System Settings" link in the left-hand pane to open the "System Properties" dialog box.
- 3). Select the "Advanced" tab and click on the "Environment Variables" button.
- 4). Scroll down the list of items under "System Variables." If "JAVA_HOME" appears in the list, click on it and select "Edit" to check its value and syntax. If it doesn't appear in the list, the variable is not currently registered on your system.
