First of all, gather your thoughts on what is all about your poem.
Think of an appropriate title that carries the whole idea of your poem.
Good title has great impact to the reader's mind.
If the title looks perfect for them they will have the desire to read the whole poem.
Unlike an article that is made up of paragraphs, poem is made up of stanzas and rhymes.
And like a song, poem has its own beating which give the reader more delight in reciting it.
Your poem will need a lot of real emotions in order to make it real.
You need to pour your heart into it.
As you go deep in your composition the deeper your emotion is needed.
You must feel the pain, the joy and whatever feelings you want to convey and that you wish the reader will feel the same.
Aside from your heart, your brain will be twisted a little bit thinking on how to rhyme your words.
And to be consistent, you must follow word counts as you build the story you gathered in your thoughts.
And now if you already saved a draft, review and revise it till you are satisfied.
