When first week of March arrives, college students go crazy over March Madness. This is called the March Madness which experiences until first week of April. This is an American tradition.

In 1982, CBS news reporter Brent Musburger used the phrase in 1982 throughout the telecast of a competition game. This started to be associated with NCCA basketball tournaments.
