Take a Rest
Lately I have been pushing it.
I have been working long hours and filling my time with many things that need to be done.
It seems lately that I am getting things done but at the cost of losing sleep and rest.
I am sure I am not alone in this.
It think it is more common to lose rest than to have it in abundance.
After a while, it begins to build up and soon the body will tells us that it is now time to rest.
I came home from work, ate a snack, and then crashed on the couch.
My body took over and said "Benny, it is now time for me to catch up on things and I need you to rest so I can do them" I had no intention of resting but I was out like a light with no choice it seems.
When I woke up I felt refreshed, more energetic, more aware, happier and more inspired.
I am now writing this post right after that rest and I feel wonderful.
There are many benefits to resting well and regularly.
The body recovers from all its daily activities while you are at rest.
When you are well rested, you become less stressed and irritable.
Having good rest will also bring back your focus and ability to be more efficient in whatever it is that you pursue in your life.
In general, when you have better rest, you have better health, ultimately giving you a better life.
Who can argue with that? Who doesn't want a better life? Who doesn't want to live life healthy, focused and less stressed?? Starting today I am going to make a better effort in maintaining a quality rest life.
This way I can respect the body and allow it the time needed to recuperate, as well as respect my time by making sure I do not waste it by doing things that are not important and focused.
What about you? How are you doing when it comes to rest? Have you noticed differences in your life when you are low on sleep vs.
when you are well rested? Think about it, and then go have a nap, and when you wake up see the difference in your life and in your body when you are well rested...
it might surprise you once you are aware of it.
It might surprise you on what you are now able to do.
