How to Look at Your Virtual Memory

    Windows XP

    • 1). Click the "Start" button on the taskbar. Click "Run." Type "sysdm.cpl" in the "Open" dialog box and press the "Enter" key.

    • 2). Click the "Advanced" tab. Click the "Settings" button under the "Performance" section.

    • 3). Click the "Advanced" tab. The amount of assigned virtual memory is in the "Virtual Memory" section.

    Windows Vista and Windows 7

    • 1). Click the "Start" button on the taskbar.

    • 2). Select "Control Panel," "System and Maintenance" and "System."

    • 3). Click the "Advanced system settings" link in the left pane.

    • 4). Click the "Advanced" tab. Click the "Settings" button under the "Performance" section.

    • 5). Click the "Advanced" tab. The amount of assigned virtual memory is in the "Virtual Memory" section.
