Description Of A Christian Marriage Service
There is a lot of fanfare at the home of the bride before the big day. A Christian marriage service will take place in a church. This is because their religion is the center of the event. They want their vows to be witnessed not only by the congregation but by God. Such a marriage is considered blessed as it takes off. Different churches may conduct different marriage services, but the beliefs still remain the same. During a Christian marriage service, the bride is given away by her father in the church. If the father is not alive, an uncle or a close older male family friend will do. The bride will wear a white veil and gown. It is usually white in color and, this is very vital and significant. The color white represents purity and to be precise, it represents sexual purity. This is a very vital part of a Christian marriage. The couple needs to abstain from sexual intercourse before marriage. This is no longer commonplace but, some couples manage to fulfill this requirement.
There are helpers present to assist the bride and groom and, they are the best maid and the best man. There are other maids and a flower girl. In a Christian marriage, there are many reasons for the union. They include for sexual intimacy, procreation and to have a companion for life. During the service, vows will be exchanged and they are to affirm that the union will last forever. Many take the vows very seriously and they should rightfully do so. They then exchange rings and they represent the never ending love for each other. The bride will have flowers in her hands at all times to symbolize fertility. It is an emotional transition ceremony which ensures that the bride and groom are declared husband and wife. After the church ceremony, a reception is held to eat, feast and celebrate the auspicious occasion.
