Find Relevant Blogs to post comments on and write a quality comment that will get responses from other people.
This is important, because if people are reading your comments, they'll follow your links.
Single or super-short comments rarely get noticed.
You need to apply some effort in this area.
Add VALUE Comments when posting to other people's blogs.
If you have another tidbit of information on a subject, by all means add it.
If not, simply say something about your experience with the information on the blog.
Comment about the resources, or reference a different blog post on the same topic.
Link Exchange Value for productive interactive blogging means you don't abuse the privilege, but you do leave a viable link for your host to click on when you choose to participate.
Since my link is most normally under my name, I sometimes link to another relevant blog to give the reader more viable content on a particular subject.
Comment in a blog post on your blog about the blog you're making comments on - or better yet, tweet your comment link.
Give your readers directions to find your post comment and a reference point.
Be sure to bring your readers to the table one way or another, to drive more traffic to the comments site.
Building traffic is a two-way street, no matter which way you're linking, the reality is all interactive links help where necessary.
Increase inter-active discussion by asking questions in your comment and go back to respond to any questions concerning you later.
But do keep the conversation humming along by participating in an ongoing discussion if you have something of value to add to the conversation.
Brand your comments with your own catch phrase and trust your readers to search your phrase - they will.
