Gorilla tracking is ranked as one of the best and most exciting safari experience worldwide. The 3 Day Uganda Gorilla safari gives you an opportunity to witness this magical experience of gorilla tracking. Out of the 750 remaining gorillas worldwide, Uganda is a home to 360, which is half of the world total population. This makes Uganda the ultimate Gorilla Safari destination in Africa.

Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Your driver guide will pick you from your Hotel early after breakfast and depart for Bwindi forest; Home of Mountain Gorillas. Expect a stopover at the Equator for photographs and continue to Mbarara where you will have another stop for lunch. This is a 6-9 hours journey and it goes through beautiful rolling hills of kigezi. Reach by late afternoon and relax in kitandara camps or Buhoma Homesteads as you wait for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Excursion

Wake up and prepare for today’s incredible experience. Have breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters (with packed lunch) for briefing on how to behave while with Gorillas. Tracking time ranges between 2-9 hours depending on their movement. Tracking goes through steep rocks, climbing up and down through slippery and muddy jungle grounds, thus making it tiresome. However the thrill of encountering these giant Apes erases the poor memories you went through in trying to find them. You will stay with them for 1hr for observation and photography. Descend to your lodge for a rest.

If the evening is free, you may go for a cultural walk in nearby communities of Batwa (Pygmies) where you will be entertained in some of the cultural dance of the community. Dinner and overnight at the Kitandara Camps / Buhoma homestead

Day 3: Depart back to Kampala.
Have breakfast and hit the road to Kampala. Expect lots of game and scenic viewing enroute. Lunch in Mbarara and arrive in Kampala by late afternoon.
