The Chevrolet Blazer started back in 1969 as a full-sized SUV and continued that way until 1983. In 1983 Chevrolet began offering a smaller mid-sized version of the Blazer, known as the S-10 Blazer, since it shared a frame and some body components with the S-10 pickup. In 1991, just as years prior, Chevrolet produced two Blazers: full-sized and S-10. 1994 marked the final year of the full-sized Blazer. From 1995 and on, only the mid-sized Blazer remained. - The 1991 full-sized Blazer had two engine options: 5.7-liter and 6.2-liter. The 5.7-liter V8, gasoline engine produced 210 horsepower and 300 foot-pounds of torque, while the 6.2-liter--a V8 diesel engine--produced 145 horsepower and 248 foot-pounds of torque.
