Your mother will appreciate gifts that you purchase from stores, but she likely will cherish gifts that you created yourself. Think about her interests and personality before you make the gift. Consult with your father and siblings on what to create, and consider using household items to make the gift. - Collect photographs of you and mother together, and create a mother-daughter photo album. Divide the album into different stages of your lives together. In the first half, include photos of your teenage years and the school events your mother attended. Write a message to your mother on a white sheet of construction paper on the album cover.
- Obtain blank coffee mugs and decorate them with designs that fit your mother's experiences.
- Create a lasting reminder of your mother's legacy by taking a blank journal and writing a small and meaningful biography of her. Before writing the biography, get a voice recorder and gather important facts about your mother from your father, grandparents, aunts, uncles and good friends. Sort through the notes and divide the biography into the different stages of your mother's life.
