How to Create Vectors from Clip Art
- 1). Open a new drawing board in the free program Inkscape (see Resources).
- 2). Go to "File," then "Import," and choose the image you want to convert. Click "Embed" in the "Import" pop-up window. The program will automatically select your image.
- 3). Click on the "Path" tab, and click "Trace Bitmap" on the menu.
- 1). Go to the free "Convert image to the SVG format" online tool (see Resources).
- 2). Click "Browse" to locate your image on your computer, and click "Open." You can also enter the URL location to import the image directly from a website.
- 3). Change the settings if you want to. You can resize your image, choose the color of the picture or enhance it. Click "Convert File."
- 4). Unzip your image on your computer.
- 1). Download the JPG to SVG converter pack (see Resources), and install both programs. You can use the free trial, or buy the pack for $120.
- 2). Open "Auto DWG Vector Now." Browse your computer after clicking "Input Image File." Click "Open." Change the "Options" if you need to. You can change the line type, the color of the image background and the version of AutoCAD. Click "Output File" and "Save." You have now a DWG file.
- 3). Open the "Batch transform." Click the menu "DWG/DXF to SVG." A window will pop up.
- 4). Click "Add Files." Change the output by clicking the "Target Folder" button. Change the "Target File Format" to SVG. You can rescale the picture of you want. Click "Start."
