Water Treatment Equipment

Only one type of water treatment is never enough. Often it is a good idea to employ two or even three methods of water treatment equipment to make sure your water is not only free of pollutants, but still has the nutritional value that water needs. The combination of germ killing, chemical eradication and water softening is ideal.

An ultraviolet radiation water treatment equipment is used to kill germs. Ultraviolet light is produced by mercury lamps at a high setting. The DNA of the microorganisms that are in the water are inactivated by the ultraviolet light as the proteins of their cells absorb the ultraviolet radiation. The real draw back of ultraviolet radiation filtration is that it does not remove chemicals such as chlorine or sediments. Ultraviolet radiation removes over 99.99% of the microorganisms that are found in common tap water.

Carbon absorption water treatment equipment filters out unpleasant tastes, smells, chlorine, gases and many other chemicals. This method can also get rid of microorganisms. Carbon absorption will not effect the hardness of water, heavy metals or solids in the water. Combining this method with ion exchange is ideal to get softer and cleaner water. Carbon filtration is a common way to get truly clean water. Carbon filtration does not remove any of the essential minerals that we meet our nutritional needs.

Ion exchange water treatment equipment passes water through bead-like spherical resin materials.  The water ions are exchanged with the ions that are attached to the beads.  This method is used for deionization and softening of water. Combining this method with other types of filtration such as carbon filtration is ideal. The carbon filtration method will remove the microorganisms that the ion exchange cannot dispose of.
