Yeast Free Diet - Wheat - Should We Still Lay Off Whole Wheat Even If We Are Not Allergic to It?
Why is wheat bad? Should we still lay off whole wheat even if we are not allergic to it? Those are the questions asked by a reader of mine related to yeast free diet wheat.
Well, whole wheat is not necessarily bad for everyone on a yeast diet.
It would be acceptable if you can say for sure that it doesn't bother you, and of course if it's yeast free.
The reason wheat is considered a no-no is because it is a highly allergenic food.
If you are going to be allergic with something, wheat is high on the list.
Wheat seems to irritate a lot of people with Candida because of the gluten.
I do allow it, however, once a week or so.
Everyone's different, and unfortunately no one can tell you what will work for you.
Also, considering the fact that your symptoms have only been occurring for 10 months, yes, you probably will heal faster, provided you stick to the diet and antifungal.
However, you probably did have some yeast overgrowth even before you became symptomatic.
I have read, however, that people under 20 years old tend to respond much quicker to treatment.
Probably that is because your bodies are still young and relatively good at repairing themselves if given a chance.
Here is a story from my friend who hasn't get 20 years old.
He has been on antifungal things for about 3-4 months, and the diet for about 3, although he has fallen off it once about 2 weeks in and has only cut out potatoes and carrots about 1 month ago.
He has vastly improved on what he was, such as bed ridden for about a week and majorly depressed.
He has only had the symptoms badly for about 10 months, and I believe he will be recovered soon.
