What Is Heating Oil?

What is heating oil and how do we use it in everyday life? That is an easy question to answer.
First off "heating oil" is exactly what it sounds like.
We use it to heat our homes; if you have boiler as your heating supply then that is using oil.
Overall there are quite a few ways we can and do use oils every day.
Oil is made up of many different things; in general it is mixture of Petroleum-derived hydrocarbons.
Heating oils technically are fuel you can burn for source of heat; anything from gas to kerosene can be used as oil in some cases.
The burning point of heating oil is about 40 c or 104 degrees F; making it a great heat source.
Without heating oil millions of people would freeze in the winter, obviously it is an important product to everyone in the world.
Whether you know it or not you probably are using oil every day.
You can use it for almost anything.
If you are doing something heat or energy related you can be sure some sort of oil is involved.
Heating a home is obviously the most common use of oils.
Cars, generators, equipment, and many other things require gas and oil to run as well; this is simply a different form of heating oil.
There are so many ways that millions of people use it in their everyday lives.
Sometimes for the good sometimes for the bad, but either way it has essentially become a necessary part of life for millions of people.
Believe it or not it is actually used on many ships and boats worldwide too.
Unfortunately due to the pollution and environmental impact most ships only resort to heating oil when there is no other source of heat available.
The most common place to find it used is in the northeast United States.
In general the U.
S.
has the highest usage of oil because millions of homes are heated by oil; along with that millions of commercial buildings are also heated thanks to heating oil.
In 1973 residential fuel oil was providing heat to 16.
3% of homes, then in 1993 it was cut down to only 3.
2% now in 2008 it was cut down to only 3% of the USA.
Other countries have even lower usage rates; the reason behind the change is pollution of course.
Governments and environmental agencies have been encouraging many people to move to cleaner heating methods than oil.
Whether you like it or not we use oil basically every day for many purposes.
Without it millions of people worldwide would have no heat during the winter.
Unfortunately it is not an environmentally friendly solution, but at this time there are not any better alternatives available in many cases.
In the coming years we will likely see even more of a decline in oil use.
