    • 3). Learn the basics on how to write an effective grant proposal. After gaining the necessary skills needed to write a grant proposal for your after school program, you will be more prepared to compete with other districts in order to receive your funding.

    • 4). Apply for a federal grant. Register with websites such as Afterschool.gov or Grants.gov to begin your grant proposal process in order to receive your funding for that after school program you desire. There are more than 1,000 federal grants available according to Grants.gov in categories including but not limited to education, environment and energy, so search and apply wisely when trying to obtain a grant for your school program.
