Discovering the Reasons For Our Fears and Its Contributors

Why are we so fearful? It is human nature for us to want to be comfortable.
We prefer not to be inconvenienced, and we have grown accustomed to what is familiar and consistent in our lives.
When we began to stretch outside our comfort zone to explore new possibilities or new challenges, we are fearful because fear attaches itself to uncertainty.
We have the need for guarantees in our life.
We are okay as long as we know what to expect.
Fear is not present in certainty.
But when uncertainty sets in, so does fear.
Rather than move forward, we stand still or move in the opposite direction, never opening ourselves to the limitless possibilities that await us.
We are afraid to fail and we are afraid to succeed.
Some of us experience both of these fears, causing us to be between a rock and a hard place.
In this mode, we are stagnant, not moving.
We are afraid on all counts, afraid to move in any direction.
If we fail, we fear what others will say or think of us.
Conversely, if we succeed, we are also afraid of what others will think of our success, fearing that people will somehow think less of us for achieving so much success.
Why are you so fearful? Write down some of the reasons you are fearful so you can clearly analysis the limiting beliefs you have developed.
What are some of the things that contribute to our fear? Fear manifests itself in many different ways, and there are many things that contribute to fear.
I like to refer to contributors as fears' partners, the things fear uses to nurture and grow our fears.
It is important to be able to recognize what messages fear uses to confirm our fears.
When we find ourselves creating worst case scenarios or making predictions, we have decided that what we imagine is actually real or is going to occur.
We have allowed fear to present us with an outcome that is simply not true! How many times have you had truly wonderful things happen in your life? You are living a satisfied, fulfilling life.
You have numerous successes to your credit.
But the moment one negative thing happens in your life, that one negative cancels out all the positive things you have achieved in your life! I am no mathematician, but I am certain that 10 is greater than one! One bad occurrence does not weigh more significantly that the 10 positive things that have shown up in our life.
We have to stop focusing on the negative.
When we focus on the negatives, we will use that to keep us from making changes in our life.
Other contributors to our fears are when we make statements such as, "I will never acquire wealth.
" Or what about, "I will always be this way.
" These statements limit our potential for growth and success because we have already set ourselves up for failure.
When we feed ourselves negative talk, it becomes our reality and fear takes up residence in our life.
We have to make a conscious effort to transform fear's inner voice and reverse those fear statements.
Become proactive in managing your fears so you can open yourself up to the limitless possibilities that await you.
