  Formerly known as the Johannesburg International Airport, the O.R. Tambo International Airport is the busiest airport in Africa and is located about 14 miles east of the city center. While there are hotels within walking distance from Johannesburg International Airport, including a transit hotel at the airport, budget accommodations are a short drive from the airport and many of these hotels offer free shuttle or transfer service to and from the airport. Hotel prices do vary according to time of the year. Johannesburg Airport's neighboring suburbs include Kempton Park, Germiston, Brakpan and Alberton.

Africa Centre Airport Leisure Hotel

• This hotel is located in a secure environment close to the O.R. Tambo International Airport as well as a flea market, restaurants, hotel casinos and water world. The nightly rate, as of September 2010, starts at $108.33 and changes as the local currency fluctuates against the US dollar. On arrival at the airport in Johannesburg, the hotel recommends that you call the reception desk from the Telkom Office at International Arrivals and a vehicle will pick you up within 15 minutes.
