To Be Free

Freedom, depending on the context, can mean different things.
Generally speaking, to be "free", means you are without constraints...
in the absence of barriers, without limits, so to speak.
To be free means that nothing is holding you back, subduing you, oppressing you, etc you are free! I don't know maybe you feel you can't relate or don't understand the big deal because, perhaps you don't consider yourself ever having been enslaved.
But to be free...
truly free, is invaluable.
You see, I don't think that most people even realize that they aren't really free.
Most people associate freedom with not being imprisoned, and/or, not being a slave, historically speaking, as in the master/slave situation.
However, the irony is that most people are as, Darrick Scrugg's book suggests, "living life behind invisible bars", and what I view as "slaves" of mediocrity.
This is not freedom.
You are not free when you believe you have no choice but to go to a job you despise, or tolerate, because you consider your livelihood dependent on the income from that job.
You are not free when you live paycheck to paycheck, and wait for that 2 week vacation they "give" you for your all your hard work.
You are not free when you think you "have" to work for someone else...
period.
Here's the reality check...
IF YOU ARE NOT LIVING YOUR DREAM LIFE OR AT THE VERY LEAST ACTIVELY PURSUING IT...
DOING WHAT YOU LOVE...
HAPPY...
FULFILLED...
EXCITED FOR TOMORROW...
THEN YOU ARE NOT FREE! We all have dreams, but few of us are living the life of our dreams.
And what's sad is that most of us never even consider this "dream life" possible or even realistic.
Remember, to be free means to be without constraint, without barriers, without limit.
We are only limited by what we consider inconceivable in our minds.
To live an average existence, for me, is not an option...
is not living.
Life is too short not to take advantage or every moment, and live to the fullest.
And it is way too long to do anything else.
The beauty of life, and being blessed with another day, is that we can use the wisdom from each moment passed to change the course of our destiny.
