How to Install IIS 6
- 1). Insert the Windows 7/Vista/XP setup CD in the CD drive of your computer.
- 2). Click on "Start" and then click on "Control Panel."
- 3). Double-click on the "Programs and Features" icon on the Control Panel window that opens on Windows 7/Vista. On Windows XP, double-click on the "Add or Remove Programs" icon.
- 4). Click on the "Turn Windows features on or off" option on the windows that opens in Windows 7/Vista. On Windows XP, click on the "Add/Remove Windows Components" option on the left side of the Add or Remove Programs dialog box that opens.
- 5). Click on the "+" sign next to Internet Information Server to expand it on the dialog box that opens, click to select all the check boxes below it and then click on "OK" on Windows 7/Vista. For Windows XP, click to select the "Internet Information Services (IIS)" check box on the Windows Components Wizard dialog box that opens and then click on the "Next" button. This will start the IIS installation process.
- 6). Click on the "Finish/OK" button after the IIS 6 installation process is complete. Restart your computer if you are prompted to do so.
