History

Clarks is an English company that opened it’s in doors in 1825 with the mission of “being all about our customers.” And that hasn’t changed today. Brothers Cyrus and James Clark made their first pair of shoes out of sheepskin scraps, which worked pretty well in the 1820’s. They would set the standard for Clarks – offering people exceptionally comfortable, long-lasting footwear.

The shoes, called "Browns Peters," became an instant hit. And the customers followed.

The company came to the United States in 1977 and in 1980 bought the Bostonian Shoe Company which had been an American standard in men's shoes. Clarks now operates 250 stores nationwide.

Giving Back

Clarks puts in heart into charitable work through Soul of Africa, which is a self-sustainable charity that aids unemployed women and families affected by AIDS in South Africa. It raises funds and creates employment through the sale of hand-stitched shoes. All profits go straight back into the communities and they have raised over $1 million since production started in 2004.

Clarks Men's Shoes

The most popular men’s shoe in the Clarks men’s line is the Desert Boot. Modeled on a style made in the bazaars of Cairo and word by British army officers, the Desert Boot has stood the test of time. Also in the Clarks “Originals” line is the Wallabe and the Desert Trek which were launched in the 1960’s and 70’s, respectively.

Clarks men’s boots, shoes and even slippers have a timeless style that have stood the test of time and made it through every fad and trend. They are still must have footwear in every man’s closet.
