    California Association of Independent Schools

    • Located along Lakeside Drive in Burbank, the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) is also near the New York Film Academy Film and Acting School, on West Olive Avenue. CAIS has approximately 48 registered private high schools located in multiple counties, including Orange, Visalia, Tulare, Sonoma and West Los Angeles. San Mateo, Alameda and San Rafael are just three of several cities with private accredited high schools.

    California Association of Private School Organizations

    • Located along Erwin Street in Van Nuys, the California Association of Private School Organizations (CAPSO) is close to Interstate 405 and Victory Boulevard. As a consortium of more than 20 different private, independent and religious educational facilities, CAPSO is affiliated with the Council for American Private Education (CAPE). With private accredited high schools in many California cities, such as Fresno, Oakland and San Francisco, CAPSO also has institutions in Sacramento and San Bernadino.

    National Association of Independent Schools

    • Listing schools in multiple California cities, including Los Angeles, San Jose, Stockton and Long Beach, the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) accredits private high schools in counties such as Imperial, Humbolt, Kern and Marin, for example. The NAIS online membership directory has listings of California's private accredited high schools as well. Brandson, Cate, Francis Parker and Sonoma Academy are all private accredited high schools located in Ross, Carpinteria and San Diego, for example.

    California Association of Private Special Education Schools

    • Near Interstate 5 and exit 519B, the California Association of Private Special Education Schools (CAPSES) is along J Street, close to the State Capitol and Museum in Sacramento. CAPSES has private high schools in areas such as San Fernando, Santa Barbara, San Gabriel Valley and Riverside, all accredited by the California Department of Education. The Hawthorne Academy, North Valley School and Rosier Park high schools all serve children with learning, hearing and visual impairments as well.
