- 1). Go to your favorite Internet domain registrar's website in your Web browser. Links to several popular registrars have been included in the Resources section of this article.
- 2). Enter the domain name that you would like to purchase in the search box located on the registrar's homepage. If there is a drop-down box that allows you to choose your extension, select ".cc" from the drop-down box. Other sites will provide check boxes that can be marked to determine availability for multiple extensions. Place a checkmark in the box labeled ".cc". Alternatively, type the domain name with the extension in the search box, typed exactly the way a user would enter it into a Web browser. For instance: "www.mywebsite.cc". Click "Search" to search for available domains.
- 3). Review the results of the search. If the website that you searched is available, place a check mark beside it or click the button labeled "Add to Cart." If the requested domain is not available, you will typically be offered alternatives based off of the keywords of your original entry. Continue to search for a domain name until you find one that is acceptable. The registrar will also provide the option to purchase your web address with different extensions along with the ".cc" extension, usually at a discounted price. If you would like to purchase additional domain names, place a check mark beside them or click "add to cart."
- 4). Click "Checkout," which will be displayed after adding the domain names to the cart. If you would like to continue to browse the website, you can click on the shopping cart link located in the top-right corner of the screen.
- 5). Select any of the additional services offered by the registrar, such as Web hosting, Web design and private registration that you would like to add to your order, then choose the option to proceed to check out. The additional services are not mandatory, and can be bypassed by either leaving the check boxes blank or by clicking "No Thanks."
- 6). Sign in to your account if you have an existing account with the domain registrar or create a new account if you are a first-time customer. When creating an account, complete all of the required fields and click submit.
- 7). Enter your credit card information and click "submit" to complete the order. Once the payment has processed, you will be directed to the confirmation screen and will receive an email containing the details of your order. You will then be able to log into your account to configure the domain name.
