How Long Does It Take To Make Money Blogging?

That's a popular question these days.
Now that blogging has turned into a popular form of communication, those doing it want to be able to monetize it.
And that's a fair objective.
I will be honest with you.
I have been 'professionally' blogging for a little over 45 days and I've made about $100.
Now, don't get frustrated or laugh at me.
Because I made that $100 just from learning how to blog.
I too, was going through the learning stages just as I was teaching you.
So, everything that I posted in September and October of this year, you should read it, and follow it.
Those things work.
They will get you to a better place, financially.
However, it will take time.
One thing I do everyday is log into Digg.
Digg is a social bookmarking site that readers read what you submit and hopefully make your submission popular.
The key to monetizing Digg is: (1)make friends and (2)submit relevant content.
Try to be the first one to submit something or just submit what you blog about.
I will warn you, that Digg-ers can be brutal if they think you are spamming or your submission is not original.
I usually submit everything I blog about to both Digg and DropJack.
DropJack allows me to submit to all of the major social bookmarking sites from one place.
That's time efficient for me.
I usually make friends on Digg by clicking on one of my friends' name and request their friends to become my friends.
This is working great because today I have 294 friends.
Yesterday that count was 149.
I intend to have 1000 friends by the end of the week.
Now, here is what I believe will happen.
So far of my 294 friends, one third of them have agreed to receive shouts from me.
Shouts are requests to have a friend Digg your submission.
Each vote from a friend is worth one Digg.
So approximately 96 of my friends have agreed to receive shouts.
Of this 96, about 30 will give me a vote.
30 Diggs is not enough to make my submission popular where it will send massive amounts of traffic to my blog.
That is why I am on a mission to have 1000 friends by the end of the week.
This way at least 300 will agree to receive shouts and 100 of those will give me Diggs.
Having a submission receive 100 Diggs is enough to make a story become popular and spread like wildfire on the internet.
It's all a numbers game.
Adding 200 friends a day takes a couple of hours, but it's worth it.
It's a plan, my plan to make money by utilizing social networking.
