Ayurveda is believed to be the oldest healing science still known to man. It covers every aspect of the human mind, body, and spirit, with its focus on happy, healthy longevity. These workshops will give insight into this 5000 year-old medicine system and how it can be a very effective tool in transforming your health habits.
Part 1:
Finding your Mind/Body Balance: Improve your health and well-being through Ayurvedic living.
During this workshop, participants will be guided through determining their Ayurvedic constitution (€prakruti€), and will walk away with solid knowledge of how to apply its principles to their everyday life, which is the foundation of Ayurveda's preventive approach.
The content of the course includes the following points:
€ What is Ayurveda
€ Basic principles
€ Ayurvedic definition of health
€ Prakruti - Ayurvedic constitution
Part 2:
The rhythm of daily living: Dinacharya, Ayurvedic Daily routine
A daily routine is essential to bring radical change in body, mind, and consciousness. Ayurveda follows the rhythms and cycles of life and nature. Being in sync with the natural rhythms cultivates inner awareness and teaches you to use outer resources wisely. Ayurveda teaches us to naturally and gently optimize these rhythms to obtain balance, promote health, and prevent premature aging.
The daily routine, dinacharya, offers simple practices to sharpen our senses and bring clarity to the mind, so that we naturally gravitate toward desires that are life enhancing. Moment to moment awareness and skillful action puts us in harmony with nature's rhythms and creates a foundation for living a deeply satisfying life.
We will examine dosha specific practices to enhance wellbeing.
Part 3:
Fire it Up: Understanding and optimizing the power of your digestive fire
Proper digestion, with a strong agni (fire), plays a central role in our physical and emotional wellbeing.
As Ayurveda recognizes, we are not what we eat, but €we are what we digest.€ By making choices that strengthen our digestive ability, we form the foundation for good health and vitality.
This talk is an overview of how digestion is an indicator of health; it is the basis of life! You will learn to:
Listen to the signals your digestion is telling you.
Ignite your digestive power and
0ptimize your digestive power
Part 4: The topics covered in this session will be based on interest of participants in Parts 1-3.
