FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS
Kay writes: “Could Marty Saybrooke be anymore neurotic? For God's Sake! I'm tired of her sniveling around. Get on with solving the Spencer Truman murder. Viki and Starr seem to be the only level headed people on the show. I hope we've seen the last of Tate. Now they can get rid of Miles and Nash and Spencer Truman. Poor little Marcie is going to lose Tommy. Can't they just have at least one happy couple on the show?
Bring Ben Davidson back! Blondie and her bartender were the best couple on daytime.”
Dear Kay: Yes, Marty is pretty neurotic and she’s pretty darned insistent upon getting herself sent to jail for the rest of her life. I think she should get the Woman of the Year Award for killing Spencer if she actually did kill him. I’m sure she didn’t do it, so it’s kind of annoying to sit around and watch her whining in jail. I totally agree about Viki and Starr. One of my favorite things on the show is watching them together in a scene. We’ll probably see Tate as he is sent off to jail for his hate crimes. I hope everyone is in the courtroom to applaud. And it sure does seem like a monumental task for the writers to make even one couple happy on the show. What’s that about? And OH YEAH, nothing would make me happier than to see Viki have her Ben back. They were a wonderful couple and there hasn’t been one to compare since Ben left. (Notice I didn’t say since Ben died.) At my table at the fan club luncheon, someone mentioned Ben and there was another woman at the table who had only been watching the show since Michael Easton joined the cast.
She said, “Ben who?” and I said (as I faked shoving a knife into my chest), “WHO’S BEN? Oh, you poor thing. You don’t know who Ben is? You have my deepest sympathies.”
Madelyn writes: “Maybe you can shed some light on why Spencer is still around. Spencer has more scenes than any other dead character had on OLTL With all the money Miles has I think he should use some of it to buy himself a clue. Being in that hospital for so long made him crazy, considering he's listening to a dead guy!”
Dear Madelyn: Spencer is still around because Miles is more than a little unstable emotionally and mentally. He keeps hearing Spencer in his head, trying to convince him how to handle the predicament he’s in. Let’s face it. Miles has no frame of reference except for Spencer when it comes to how to live your life and get what you want. It’s sick, but it’s the predominant force in the way Miles looks at the world.
Adrienne writes: “I just wanted to say that even though Nash & Jessica look good together, Jessica and Nash should really pay for what they did to Antonio. All Antonio wanted to do was love Jessica. Not only did he have to endure the Tess and Nash thing, but then finds out the Brennan wasn't his. Even after Jessica agrees to marry him, she still ends up cheating on him with Nash and then gets married in the hospital. Maybe Jessica should find out about jealousy when Antonio gets involved with someone else or someone from either Jess/Tess or Nash's past should reemerge to really test their love. I don't know how much influence you have on OLTL, but I would like to see more payback with the Tess/Jess/Nash/Antonio saga.”
Dear Adrienne: How would you like Jessica and Nash to pay for what they did to Antonio? We don’t disagree about how unfair it was to Antonio that he lost everything the way he did. I am the first one to admit that he got the raw end of the deal to say the least. And Jessica might be just a bit jealous if Antonio finds someone new, just because it’s human nature to feel that way, even a little bit, but I think Jessica would be happy for him and for Jamie if he found love elsewhere. Jessica and Nash fell in love under very bizarre circumstances and there is nothing anyone can do about that. Should we take them out in a field and shoot them? Jessica is paying with guilt (not that it helps Antonio) and Nash doesn’t feel he needs to have much guilt. He feels that he was as much in love and involved with Jess/Tess as Antonio was and he has known from the beginning that the marriage was a mistake. I wish Jess had realized that before Antonio had to get hurt so badly, but now everyone has to try to move on. Antonio will be moving on. Wait and see.
