History of Brody Lovitt:

Brody was a teenager when he fell in love with Gigi Morasco. After she got pregnant by Rex Balsom, he stayed with her until he joined the Navy. After some time, Brody contacted Gigi’s mother who said she took off to find Rex. Years later, Brody was offered money from Dorian Lord to reunite with Gigi and keep Shane’s paternity a secret from Rex. Brody lived with Gigi and Shane until Rex’s marriage crumbled and feared he would lose them. Nightmares of the unarmed young boy Brody supposedly shot in Iraq began to plague him and, suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome, he packed a gun and kidnapped Shane from school.

Soon, Rex finds them camping and is shot saving Shane! At the VA hospital, Brody’s friend, Wes assures him the Iraqi boy WAS armed and that he saved many by killing him. Brody remains a friend to Shane and gave him his Silver Star Metal of courage.

Brody was taken to St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital where he met and developed a relationship with Jessica Buchanan. Soon after, Brody learned Shane had Leukemia and got tested as a donor. However, Gigi’s sister, Stacy was a match but selfishly wanted Rex for herself and blackmailed Gigi into having an affair with Brody before donating her stem cells. After Rex caught them in bed and beat up Brody, Jessica witnessed Gigi leaving his apartment. Brody later explained that he would risk his own happiness to help Shane. Jessica understood and forgave him.

Brody applied for a position at the LPD as an Officer with the help of Commissioner Bo Buchanan. Recently, he rescued Jessica after she was kidnapped by Mitch Lawrence and currently suffers from memory loss and does not know who Brody is. However, he continues to pursue her, but, Jessica only has eyes for an old high school sweetheart.

Brody upsets Jessica by talking about Mitch after he noticed she remembered something while dancing with him. Jessica denied it and pushed him away. Natalie came over to say goodbye and missed her flight to London; heartbroken and intoxicated over their exes, they make love. Later, Jessica shocks Brody when she tells him she has all her memories back.

Brody asks Jessica to marry him after news of her pregnancy. However, he discovers that Ford could be the father and beats him for intruding in their lives. Brody struggles to hide the truth from Jessica that Natalie may also be carrying his baby and seeks counseling. Brody arrested Dr. Marty Saybrooke for murder and she threatened to expose his secret. After finding out the baby was Ford’s, Brody attested he slept with Natalie and learned he was her baby’s father. Horrified, Brody learned Tess resurfaced and married Ford to exclude his rights from Ryder.
