There is No Business like the Party Business! There are so many reasons to hire Party Planners just for their unequaled knowledge in who, what, where and when to contact some person who is responsible for a place to hold a great Event.
Many times there are certain restrictions at places that ordinarily someone would not entertain even inquiring about that Party Planners can get around or at least know who to ask.
There are a myriad of places to hold events and some that would create excellent backdrops for framing a fantastic event.
The biggest blockage, I have found, is not that someone was afraid to ask about a certain place, but that their lack of creativity prevents them from thinking outside that dreaded box everyone always talks about.
Let's put it this way and maybe this will help you to rethink the normal Event Planning conundrum.
Think, if you will, of a scout for a movie production.
You see the movie production company has the full scope of the production in mind when they go out to find a location.
The intent is to make the location look as normal as possible so as to create a certain style that the production has in mind.
That is why many sets are built because the movie calls for a certain style that can not be found from simply searching for a location.
This is where many a Planner gets trapped.
They get the location first and then try to make the Event they are planning fit into the space.
Try thinking the other way around.
Fit the location into your theme.
It is happening with more and more frequency with weddings, why not your Event? I once had a manager of a Gold Course that had a club house that was fabulous that many thought was only for members and the club certainly didn't advertise differently.
The manager was desiring to stream additional income into the Golf Course and was interested in new and creative ways the club house could be used tastefully.
Several creative Events later, everyone was happy and the Golf Course was now becoming a respected Event gathering place of note.
It is all about scouting for your perfect venue and it does not matter how unconventional the place may be.
All you have to so is ask.
Just Ask! The "No" you might receive doesn't really matter as it is the same if you didn't ask, at least that is what you believe, right? Become the "Movie Scout" for your event and you will become the hero for your Event Planning in the process.
Remember, Life is a Party, you just have to know how to Plan it!
