    Common Side Effects

    • According to RxList.com, patients with early Parkinson's disease reported side effects like sleepiness, insomnia, nausea, hallucinations, constipation, dizziness and increased weakness (asthenia).

    Side Effects in Patients With Advanced Parkinson's Disease

    • According to RxList.com, patients with advanced Parkinson's disease commonly reported side effects like strange dreams, asthenia, memory problems, difficulty performing voluntary movements (dyskinesia), confusion, muscle rigidity (hypertonia), gait abnormalities, dry mouth and increased urination.

    Orthostatic Hypotension

    • Orthostatic hypotension was also reported, more commonly in patients with advanced stages of the disease. This condition is characterized by a drop in your blood pressure upon standing and can cause dizziness and faintness.

    Additional Side Effects

    • According to RxList.com, additional side effects were reported in clinical trials including swelling, fever, abnormal vision, decreased libido, hallucinations and bursitis.
