Imants Baruss is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Western Ontario in Canada.
He wrote the book, "Authentic Knowing," which deals with different aspects of consciousness.
In the book, Imants deals with how we perceive ourselves in relation to the world we see around us.
He notes an old belief about the Kingdom of nature itself: "The first kingdom of nature is the mineral kingdom, Which is made up only of physical and etheric substances.
The second kingdom is the plant kingdom, Which is made up of physical- etheric as well as Astral material.
The third kingdom, the animal kingdom, Is made up of physical, etheric, astral and lower Mental matter.
The fourth is the human kingdom, Which is characterized by the presence of material From the lower worlds as well as the higher mental And more refined planes of existence.
The fifth kingdom is the spiritual kingdom of souls and angels And is centered in the higher planes of reality.
" It goes without saying that all these kingdoms, which the ancients identified, have the common bond of consciousness within them.
All contain the essence of life and are supported by a blue print of "being.
" Each kingdom is reliant on the other for its innate awareness of self-ness.
If I did not contain the material of the first kingdom, then I would not exist in this human form, but would exist in another way; I would still be consciousness, but would express it in some other form.
The existence of a stream of awareness within all matter is undeniable.
I am a whole part of another whole, and I can call it one of many names.
The fact that life is connected has been known for centuries; the belief in angels and astral life has been talked about long before the written word was possible.
The innate sense that I exist in different forms at the same time is just now being recognized as reality.
The ancients called it the kingdom of nature; I call it a manifestation of All There Is.
This physical kingdom is an expression of the source of all energy and is constantly changing as I change.
What I observe changes as I become aware of it, and I create a kingdom within another kingdom.
So what? I still experience life my way; I get up and face the day not thinking about the minerals and cells that assist me in getting up.
I take life for granted and feel superior to the non-talking life that surrounds me.
I am king of my Kingdom, until something happens and my daily routine changes due to sickness or tragedy.
Suddenly I become aware of the other parts of me that make me so special, and I realize how self-serving my life has been.
Sickness in any form is separation from my true self and a cry for help.
When I feel the anxiety of dis-ease my world becomes an island of despair and I look for help from anyone or anything.
By changing my thoughts about how I want to live; by being aware that I am connected to all life in all forms, is enlightenment.
I find help all around me, because it comes from within me.
I accept my role as a spirit having a human experience and show gratitude for all life forms.
I express myself in colors of well-ness and become a grander version of who I am.
My kingdom is the one that the bible and religions speak about: "The kingdom of God within me.
" The ancients knew the power of connection; they knew that life was creation and expression and tried to live it by being aware and thankful for all life.
I have that same power and now is my time to share it with gratitude.
I am now and my kingdom is wide open and ready for change.
