How to Make a Spaceship Out of a Bottle
- 1). Cut out two triangles from craft foam that measure 5 inches on each side. Cut out a trapezoid from the craft foam that measures 14 inches on the bottom, 12 inches on the top and 4 inches on the sides.
- 2). Squeeze a line of tacky glue along one side of both triangles, and attach one to each side of a 2-liter soda bottle. These will be the wings of the spaceship. Position the wings so that they are exactly opposite from each other and 4 inches up from the bottom of the bottle. Hold the wings in place for 5 minutes to allow the glue to dry.
- 3). Squeeze a line of tacky glue along the top of the trapezoid, and wrap the trapezoid around the bottom of the soda bottle. Squeeze a line of tacky glue along the the side edges, and press them together once the trapezoid is in place. This will be the booster for the spaceship. Hold the booster in place for 5 minutes to allow the glue to dry.
- 4). Paint the entire soda-bottle spaceship using acrylic paint. Be creative and customize the spaceship to suit your personal style. Allow the paint to dry for 20 minutes.
- 5). Apply lettering stickers onto the sides of the bottle and onto the wings to display where the spaceship is from. For example, you can apply the letters "USA" if your spaceship is from the United States of America.
