How to Make Frozen Hot Chocolate
- 1). Chop the chocolate into fine pieces and place it in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Stir occasionally until the chocolate is melted.
- 2). Add the cocoa mix and the sugar to the melted chocolate. Stir until well blended.
- 3). Remove the mixture from the heat and slowly add milk. Stir until smooth. Let the mixture sit and cool completely to room temperature.
- 4). Place the remaining milk, the cooled chocolate mixture and the ice in a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and slushy.
- 5). Pour the finished mixture into a goblet. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Use a spoon or straw or both.
- 1). Prepare the cocoa mix according to the package instructions. Use tap water or cold milk. Add a splash of cream for extra richness. Use 2 packages of cocoa mix for a large mug. Personalize the frozen hot chocolate by adding cinnamon, raspberry extract or peppermint extract.
- 2). Stir the mixture well. Leave the spoon standing in the mug. Place the mug in the freezer for about 45 minutes. Set a timer.
- 3). Remove the mug from the freezer and pull out the spoon. Use the spoon to break up the frozen cocoa and stir it into a slush. Return it to the freezer for a more solid result.
- 4). Make a gift of frozen hot chocolate. Assemble a mug, hot cocoa mix and the recipe in a pretty basket and give to a friend.
