How to Display Postcards on a Wall
- 1). Frame postcards and hang them in groups. Most postcards are 4 inches by 6 inches or 5 inches by 7 inches, allowing them to fit into standard picture frames sold at any home goods retailer. Hang postcards from multiple locations as a sort of scrapbook or your travels, or group postcards from one locale together to highlight your favorite city or vacation.
- 2). Create a custom border along the upper edge of the wall or along a chair rail using postcards. Use postcards that are all the same height, and attach to the wall using a decoupage medium. Follow the manufacturer directions for using the medium.
- 3). Hang the postcards from a string or wire stretched across the wall. Use clothespins or binder clips to clip the cards to the string, and intersperse your postcards with other memorabilia for a casual reminder of the places you have been -- or that you want to visit.
- 4). Purchase a frame with multiple photo openings, and use postcards to fill some of the openings. This works well to display vacation photos; use a shot of you and your spouse or family in one opening, and a postcard with the name of the destination in another opening.
- 5). Use postcards in a shadow box with other memorabilia from a trip or event. For postcards from a beach vacation, for example, fill the box with postcards, shells and sand from the beach and a paper umbrella from your poolside drink.
- 6). Create a postcard collage with cards you have received or purchased. Attach the cards to a sheet of poster board or thin cardboard, sized to fit your chosen frame, using a glue stick or other adhesive that you can reposition. Overlap the edges of the cards to cover the entire backing, frame and hang.
