What Gear Should I Get? When you are looking at your gear and you see the color the name is printed in, like green, blue, purple, and orange...
what is that you don't have any of these colors? The reason you can't kill anything is because you have white, or grey colored gear.
The gear you pick up is organized into colors based on how rare/powerful it is.
The colors you want are in this color order from most common (weakest) to least common (strongest) Grey, white, green, blue, purple, orange, and heirlooms which are yellow.
So try to get as much gear as you can of the highest color ranking and watch your enemies fall.
What Do I Do With Good Gear That Is Not For My Class? Two words, auction house.
You find a purple staff, but you are not able to use it, go to the auction house and set a price for it, usually you can get a lot more than the vendors offer, and if you do this enough you will find you have an excess of money, don't take my word for it try it!
