- Mario Party 3 was released on May 7, 2001, in the United States. This was 5 months after the December 7, 2000, release in Japan. The Nintendo Company released the game.
- Mario Party 3 is available for the Nintendo 64. It was the last Mario Party game on the Nintendo 64 since future versions of the game were released on next-generation consoles like the Nintendo GameCube and Wii.
- There are a total of eight characters in Mario Party 3. Players can select from Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Wario, Princess Daisy and Waluigi. These players each come with a partner who can be used in certain battles.
- Mario Party 3 features over 60 different mini-games and multiple modes that they can be played in. Players must earn as many stars as possible in Battle Royal mode. Dual mode allows players to use partners to defeat opponents, and Story mode allows single players to battle through each world.
- The only way to beat the game is by defeating the Story mode. In each level of the mode, players must battle to earn star stamps for different categories. The categories are Kindness, Strength, Wit, Love, Beauty, Courage and Mischief.
