- 1). Navigate to the RuneScape website (see References for the link) and click on "Continue to Full Site" on the upper-left portion of the screen. Move the cursor over the "Account" tab at the top of the page. A list of options appears. Click on "Account Management."
- 2). Locate and click on "Recover Password" at the bottom of the Account Management page.
- 3). Enter your RuneScape account username. This is the name you log in with, not your in-game display name. Press "Submit."
- 4). Enter all the account information to which you have access, including a security code sent to your account's registered email address. Also include your previously used passwords, membership purchase transaction IDs, and five account security questions. You also must select a new password for the account. The more information you provide on the form, the more likely it is that Jagex will reset your password. Jagex must verify that you are the true owner of the account, and users must provide sufficient evidence in order to have the password reset.
- 5). Press "Submit." Write down the recovery code automatically generated (you cannot copy and paste this code; you must manually record it). Press "Continue" and enter the code. Press "Confirm." A message appears telling you that your recovery request has been received. You must now wait for Jagex to review your recovery request.
