How to Check Air Pressure in a Tire in a Honda Prelude
- 1). Allow your Prelude to rest for at least an hour after driving. Even a small amount of driving causes enough tire friction to heat them up and alter the actual tire pressure. Letting the tires cool eliminates this anomaly.
- 2). Remove all four valve stem caps from the tires. These small black tips can be unscrewed with the fingers.
- 3). Find the manufacturer's recommended tire pressure molded on the side of the rubber. This will be a maximum and minimum psi measurement your tire should have for ultimate performance. Honda recommends keeping the tire air pressure on the Prelude between 26 and 34 psi.
- 4). Place the open end of your tire pressure gauge over the valve stem and press down firmly. There will be a small amount of air leaking, so move the gauge until this stops. This is a signal of a good connection.
- 5). Compare your current air pressure to the recommended pressure. Add or remove air based on the manufacturer's suggestion. Repeat these steps for all four tires.
