How to Make Sweet Wort With Dry Malt Extract As An Ingredient
- 1). Combine desired cracked flavoring grains used for the beer together into a large nylon mesh bag. Tie a knot around the inside content, creating a ball shape.
- 2). Fill a kettle with 2 to 3 gallons of water. Place it on the stove and add the nylon bag of cracked flavoring grains. Heat until the water reaches 170 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 3). Steep grains for 30 minutes, monitoring the temperature, making sure the water does not rise beyond 170 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the grains and bring the water to a boil.
- 4). Add liquid malt extract, dextrin powder and sugar into the water and immediately remove kettle from the heat. The created liquid solution is sweet wort, the beginning process of beer.
