How to Remove Stains From Car Leather
- 1). Roll up a piece of bread and use it to blot and rub the stain. This works well on water stains.
- 2). Mix 1 cup of water and 1 cup of rubbing alcohol. Dip a towel into the solution and wipe it on the leather stain. Rub it lightly until the stain is removed. This works well on mold stains.
- 3). Dip a rag in mild dish soap and rub it into the stain. You can also try using a plastic scouring pad. This is good on grease and oil stains.
- 4). Use an all-purpose degreaser on a rag to remove grease and food stains. Lightly rub the stain, taking care not to rub too hard or you could remove the color in the leather.
- 5). Use an iron to get rid of crayon stains on your car leather. Lay the paper towel over the crayon stain. Heat the iron to a low setting. Lightly rub the iron over the paper towel to melt the crayon. Put a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a rag and go over the crayon stain again.
- 6). Try applying toothpaste on the stain and lightly scrub with a towel. Wipe it off completely.
- 7). Apply non-acetone nail polish remover to a paper towel and wipe it over the stain. Also try aerosol hair spray on the stain, then wipe it away. You may need to do this several times.
- 8). Remove water stains on antique leather by rubbing in mayonnaise. Leave the mayonnaise on the stain for a few hours before wiping it off.
